SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING
Our production facility in Portugal operates with a continuous focus on reducing waste, energy consumption, and chemical usage. We have invested in water recycling systems in our manufacturing processes and continuously evaluate our supply chain partners against environmental performance criteria. Leather tanning is sourced exclusively from tanneries certified to the Leather Working Group standard.
MATERIALS WITH A LOWER IMPACT
We are actively transitioning our product range towards materials with reduced environmental impact. This includes recycled polyester linings, bio-based EVA compounds, and water-based adhesives that replace solvent-based alternatives. Our packaging has been redesigned to use 100% recycled cardboard and eliminate single-use plastics from all retail boxes.
DURABILITY AS SUSTAINABILITY
The most sustainable shoe is the one you replace less often. Every TOWORKFOR product is designed and tested for durability — because a shoe that lasts three years has a significantly lower environmental impact per day of use than a cheap alternative replaced every six months. Our quality standards are not just about performance; they are about longevity as an environmental strategy.
REPAIR & RESOLE PROGRAMME
Through our authorised service network, TOWORKFOR boots can be resoled and repaired rather than discarded. Extending the life of a pair of boots by two years or more dramatically reduces the raw material consumption and carbon emissions associated with manufacturing a replacement pair. We are expanding this programme across our European distribution network.
